Staff Spotlight: Shannon Pocan

Help us in welcoming our new Development Coordinator, Shannon Pocan, to the Pro-Bone-O team! She brings with her a background in nonprofit coordination and a passion for advocating for underserved humans and animals alike. Shannon is excited to meet and mingle with the Eugene community, hear stories, and share insights on how we can better support each other and the vital work of Pro-Bone-O.

Shannon grew up in both Oregon and Arizona but spent the majority of her life in the Phoenix area. She has always had a deep love for animals and animal welfare causes. She grew up with both cats and dogs and truly understands the value of the human-animal bond. Growing up poor she also understands the challenges of access to quality vet care. She believes in the power of community care, mutual aid, and advocating for the underdogs.

She currently has two cats, Astrid and Dee Dee, and one dog, Penny. In her spare time, she enjoys nature walks, drawing, painting, photography, and eating delicious vegan food.
